Counting in Hexadecimal is a little more complex because it not only uses the symbols 0-9 but also the symbols a-f. This is a base 16 system where 0-9 are the same as in decimal and a-f correlates to the numbers of 11-15 respectively. The first column or place is the ones ( 160 ) place, the second is the 16’s ( 161 ) place, the third is the 256’s ( 162 ), the fourth is 4096’s ( 163 ).
